NBCUCommutes Program Rules

As a condition of my participation in the NBCUCommutes program, I agree that I must read, understand, and at all times, comply with the program rules. I further understand and agree that NBCUniversal may modify or amend these rules from time to time and that I will abide by those rules as altered or changed.

General

  • In order to participate in any aspect of the NBCUCommutes program, including, without limitation, redemption of an incentive reward or an Anytime Mobility ride, you must (1) be a current, active Lower Lot NBCUniversal staff employee whose work location is at 10 Universal City Plaza or 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608; (2) have successfully registered and be an active participant in the NBCUCommutes program; and (3) be in compliance with all program rules.
  • Contractors, third-party tenants and production workers are not eligible to participate in the NBCUCommutes program.
  • Participation in the NBCUCommutes program is voluntary.
  • NBCUniversal expressly reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the NBCUCommutes program, in whole or in part, at any time. In the event of such modification, suspension or termination, it is your personal responsibility, without any obligation or liability on the part of NBCUniversal, to arrange for your own commute to and from your work location.
  • NBCUniversal is not responsible for any injury or loss to you or your property due to your participation in the NBCUCommutes program.
  • All information you provide as part of your registration or participation in the NBCUCommutes program must be truthful, accurate and complete. As examples only, you must not register any false information; duplicate, scan, modify, or in any way falsify a parking pass for carpool or vanpool parking; or misrepresent any commute in your commute calendar for the purposes of earning points, a reward or otherwise.
  • The success of the NBCUCommutes program is dependent, in large part, on all participants participating in a respectful and appropriate manner. When choosing to take part in the NBCUCommutes program, you are expected to participate in a respectful and appropriate manner at all times both toward other participants and in your operation of any participating vehicle, e.g., driving a vanpool or carpool in a safe and lawful manner.
  • In consideration of others in your carpool or vanpool with allergies, asthma and/or other respiratory sensitivities, you should consider avoiding the personal application of colognes, perfumes or other scented substances, until after arriving to work, particularly if you have been made aware of such a sensitivity.
  • NBCUniversal has the right to verify your employment, alternative commute method, and registration in the NBCUCommutes program at any time. Note that if NBCUniversal is unable to verify your current, active employment, alternative commute method, or enrollment in the program, you may be denied a program benefit, including without limitation a requested Anytime Mobility ride. NBCUniversal is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of the inability to verify your employment, alternative commute method, or enrollment in the program.
  • You agree to immediately report a violation of any NBCUCommutes program rule to the NBCUCommutes administrator, your human resources representative, or ComcastListens at 1-877-40-LISTENS.
  • A violation of any NBCUCommutes program rule may result in your suspension or termination from the program, loss of incentive points or reward(s), or other restriction on your participation in the program.
  • Use of duplicate or altered Anytime Mobility ride codes will result in immediate termination for a period of up to one (1) year.
  • Continued abuse of the program may result in permanent termination. NBCUniversal reserves the right to modify or eliminate any or all portions of this program at any time. NBCUniversal has the right to remove or deactivate a commuter if they are found violating any of the rules and regulations of the Anytime Mobility program

Incentive Program Rules

  • Earning incentive points in NBCUCommutes is based on the alternative mode of travel you take to commute to/from work and then log in to your commute calendar. Points earned will be reflected in your user account.
  • You earn points based on the alternative commute option you choose for your trips to and from work:
    • Walking / Biking: 2 points per trip
    • Public Transit: 2 points per trip
    • Carpool / Vanpool: 1 point per trip
    • Lyft Line/UberPOOL: 1 point per trip
    • Lyft/Uber: 0.5 points per trip

Please Note: Commute to work is considered one trip and commute from work is considered another trip.

  • If you use more than one alternative commute option per trip (e., bike and metro to work), you must log the trip solely as the commute option reflecting more than 50% of that particular commute. For example, if you bike 1 mile to the metro and then take the metro for 10 miles to get to work, that entire trip must be logged as a Public Transit trip.
  • You are not able to earn points for more than one commute option per trip (i.e., you cannot log points for both using the Metro and walking from the Metro station during one trip).
  • Incentive rewards are based on earned points. You will be able to select your desired incentive reward once you have reached the required points for that desired incentive.
  • Distribution of the reward will be handled via inter-office delivery within two weeks of you earning sufficient points for and claiming the desired reward.
  • NBCUniversal has the right to audit and verify commute calendar entries before the incentive rewards are awarded.
  • Employees will not be responsible for paying any taxes associated with their reward redemptions through the NBCUCommutes Pilot Program. If applicable, NBCUniversal will gross-up your wages to offset your tax liability resulting from rewards redeemed.

Carpool Rules

  • Designated carpool vehicle parking is located at the building 2160 garage. Currently, there are 43 carpool parking spots at this location, and these are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • The NBCUCommutes administrator will issue a carpool hangtag to the carpool leader of an eligible carpool. A carpool hangtag is required to occupy a carpool parking spot.
  • The hangtag must be displayed hanging from the rear-view mirror at all times. This hangtag has an individual identification number that corresponds specifically to your carpool. Only one hangtag is issued per carpool and must be rotated among the vehicles being used in the carpool to which the hangtag is assigned.
  • A carpool leader may not be a member of any other carpool.
  • Carpool parking is open only to those who commuted to the Universal Studios Lot that day with two (2) or more people in the carpool vehicle, with at least two (2) of the people in that vehicle working at the Universal Studios Lot that day. If a person arrives at the Universal Studios Lot in violation of this rule, including without limitation as a single occupant in the vehicle, that vehicle must park in the general parking areas, regardless of whether or not a carpool hangtag is displayed.

Vanpool Rules

  • You must pay directly to Enterprise Rideshare your share of the monthly van lease cost on the first day of each month. NBCUniversal is not responsible for any payment related to your vanpool, except for gas purchases made with a registered Enterprise Rideshare gas card. Gas purchases for your vanpools made with anything other than a registered Enterprise Rideshare gas card will not be reimbursed.
  • If you intend to discontinue riding in your vanpool, you agree to give at least 30 days’ written notice of such intent to both the NBCUCommutes administrator and your vanpool coordinator.
  • You will assist the vanpool coordinator in maintaining the maximum agreed upon passenger load for your vanpool. You will notify the vanpool driver as early as possible on or before a day you are unable to ride in the vanpool for any reason (e.g., illness, vacation, scheduled overtime, etc.).
  • You agree to use a seat belt at all times while riding in the vanpool.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the van at all times.
  • The possession or use of any controlled substance while in the van is strictly prohibited. Further, the van cannot be driven by any person impaired by the use of any controlled substance.
  • You and all persons in your vanpool group are responsible for assuring that the van is maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
  • NBCUniversal is not responsible for damaged or stolen vans used for the vanpool.

Anytime Mobility Rules

  • Anytime Mobility rides are Lyft rides available solely to program participants who have utilized an alternative commute option to commute to work and who were planning to use an alternative commute option to commute from work to home.
  • Anytime Mobility ride requests must be submitted on the NBCUCommutes portal by the individual requesting the ride. When requesting an Anytime Mobility ride through the portal, you must have the complete destination address and an active user profile on the Lyft Ridesharing mobile application. Lyft ride codes will not be distributed for incomplete addresses. A valid ride code must be entered into your Lyft Rideshare mobile application at the time of use. If you did not use the provided ride code, you are responsible for all costs incurred, and you will not be reimbursed for any services provided to you.
  • You are limited to six (6) Anytime Mobility rides per calendar year. The only authorized Anytime Mobility ride pick-up location is the Universal Studios Lot.
  • Anytime Mobility rides may be taken only for unexpected emergencies requiring you to leave from the Universal Studios Lot at a time or in a manner that does not permit you to use your regular alternative commuting method. Anytime Mobility ride eligibility includes the following: (i) you must leave work on the Universal Studios Lot during the workday to respond to an illness of you/family member or other urgent and unexpected situation, (ii) your carpool or vanpool driver unexpectedly leaves due to his/her/family member’s illness or other urgent and unexpected situation, (iii) you walked or biked to work and the weather conditions prohibit you from making the return trip by walking or biking, and (iv) you are required to work unscheduled overtime. You are never eligible for an Anytime Mobility ride when you have worked your scheduled workday/shift and your alternative mode of transportation is available.
  • Anytime Mobility rides cannot be used for personal errands, scheduled overtime, pre-planned appointments or activities, business related travel, vehicle malfunctions (car breakdown), or transit failures.
  • NBCUniversal has the right to deny an Anytime Mobility request at any time and for any reason.
  • Anytime Mobility vouchers/rideshare codes are non-transferable and may only be used by the NBCUCommutes registered participant associated with the voucher/rideshare code.
